Oh man I'm excited about some weather

      Oh how hot in Houston can it get. Lately it feels like I've been sifting
through a hot dry sandbox that is my city. My grass is dead and all the
trees around here are looking so dry. Now that I have school I get
up in the morning and guess what? It's still hot.
      On a cooler note, it's my birthday today. I'm now 20 and hey I'm not hating it. Just another year till it all goes downhill right?! So I guess I need to get while the gettins good. While I'm writing this, in the back of mind I know that I have to work today. I've come to terms with this considering everyone who has a job usually has to work. Hey at least I get a carrot cake from Chez Nous! /Drool

How will the world look post-singularity?

Living in a post human world
What a tough and interesting question to ask. Although it doesn't even seem slightly difficult for Dr. Michio Kaku to answer this in his surprisingly grand outlook, it's such a bigger challenge for some. Being a theoretical physicist does have its perks it seems. To look at a post human world seems like such a dream and fantasy. Though Dr. Kaku understands and tells us that we will have ever expanding robots and technology with never aging perfect bodies.

"We will become the gods we once feared"

I always wonder how long it will be, if I'm even alive, before enhancing and genetic changes will be fairly common just like the changes we can make to our bodies today. I welcome the future.

Problems we have never seen before will always be more prevalent as time goes on and our societies change. Let's welcome that change.
Open our minds.
And let perfection always seem incomplete and standardized, so we can lets our mind flourish to solve the problems of the future.

Gnarls Barkley

Recently Cee Lo Green was interviewed by Rolling Stone and he talks about a few things from the new direction of his collaboration project with Danger Mouse, Gnarls Barkley.

"The more you come to the table with, the less you have to ask for." Those are some words to keep friends.

"You don't get what you deserve, you get what you negotiate." By hearing these words come from an artist, it really hits home how money is surged through every media artist these days and some get more than others. I wonder if Danger Mouse gets a bigger cut of the pie because of better social skills?

Knowing that there are new songs coming from the duo soon is great to hear. I'm sure the heart and soul will be pumped into these just as much as any G.B song.

One Day of Peace

One day of Peace
    Let me tell you this here and now. I am totally in love with TED talks. The most inspiring, creative, and heart felt people talk on here and give speeches and birth to all kinds of ideas. "Ideas worth spreading" is their motto, and this motto is certainly correct.
    Jeremy Gilley talks in this TED talk about One Day of Peace. Crazy Idea right? The whole world you say?

    Yes it's a pretty out there idea but Jeremy has went all over the world trying to persuade the people and governments to instate a peace day, which would be September 21. To the Dalai Lama and the corners of Afghanistan, Jeremy has been putting forth his idea of achieving one day of global peace. Yes others have their own agenda of war and power, but one day of peace is not asking for much. To create the first ceasefire non-violence day is amazing and a powerful statement for everyone.
     I found this incredibly inspiring and just had to blog about it. Even this tiny blog in the realm of the internet can help right?

Yum Coffee does the soul good

Everyone's gotta have their pickup. A little something to get the energy flowing and the day started.

• 2 ounces freshly brewed espresso or 2 ounces very strong coffee
• 7 1/2 ounces 2% low-fat milk. Or whole if you prefer
• 2 -3 teaspoons sugar
• 1/4 teaspoon cocoa powder.
  
• And for measure an 1/8 teaspoon of cinnamon 
  
  Such an easy taste treat to enjoy while reading or that mornin rain.
  
  
  
  
  1. Mix the sugar and coco together first then combine all ingredients in a glass or bottle.
  2. Shake and stir rapidly until well mixed and frothy.
  3.  I sometimes include an ounce or two of half-and-half with the milk for a thicker, richer beverage. Some ice maybe if you're feeling it.

Such a great and inspiring writer. I always appreciate reading his books afterwards. Just recently I plowed through all of them and would love for Gladwell to put out another. If you haven't put forth any effort in reading, then this could be the time to start.

I'm about to be on my way to go there right now for some good ole work time. It's blazing hot outside and I have to prepare myself for it since my truck has no air conditioner.
Yes.
I know.

NO AIR CONDITIONER. It's hot!
But I will strive on and put forth my best effort to keep up my self motivation.

So I cook at a french restaurant in Houston,Texas called Chez Nous. Pretty swanky. Great food. Love the job.

We have a wine dinner at the end of month on the last friday. Our theme last month was Bollywood and heres a few pics of what we made.

10,000 hour rule.

So I have been listening to the audio book version of a pretty popular book "Outliers", by Malcolm Gladwell. It gives quite a bit of useful and interesting stories. Gladwell can really put anything into story mode and tell it well. I'm trying to wrap my mind around the present rule that he talks about of reaching 10,000 hours of practice to achieve expertise in anything. He really does put this in a way to where you can understand even though many criticize him for "over simplifying". It gives me hope to know that others have worked so hard and for so long to achieve the excellence and success they want. In this book he gives me a sense of hope to achieving my dreams. Practice Practice Practice. :)

The way society bitches out in need for power

Recently Brazilian president Dilma has approved the construction of a hydroelectric plant, thus destroying 400,000 hectares of forest. This of course has terrible consequences and really provides a huge impact on the indigenous people of the Xingu River and on the ecosystem of many many species. Tens of thousands of letters and emails made to President Dilma were ignored and also 600,000 signatures were quietly ignored and tossed out the window. It's horrible to see such a heavy burden be placed upon nearly 40,000 local populations that rely on the ecosystem and ways of nature. They are being eradicated for power and economic possibility. We have to take care of our planet and it's a shame to realize that mere politicians have control over such a strenuous order without the word of the people.

I feel terrible for this man as he sits and weeps over the destruction of his life and people. The basis of their whole existence is being thrown into the pit of despair as the construction plan is enacted. Chief Raoni, this man crying, signifies how thousands upon thousands feel in Brazil. Please look at this man and help the cause.

These people have the right idea. I know they're not talking about actual trees but you get the idea. I constantly see the environment go to shit around Houston, Texas. Forests completely demolished on the basis of building new freeways and "building" the economy. Rivers polluted with trash from college frat boys tailgating. Mounds of plastic flood areas of streets. I do believe people around Houston need to band together and help clean up areas that need it. Instant Karma points c'mon!.

The next time you throw your three dollar naked juice bottle on the street in front of your Whole Foods Market, please go to the back of your mind and think "Where the hell is that bottle going". There is no magical litter fairy that goes around and picks up your trash. Maybe if you see a trashcan with trash around it, then maybe you could be the nice guy and pick it up. Don't be the kid that tears the leaves off bushes.

Laundry oh Laundry

I'm just a tiny bit lazy on doing my laundry. The washing, the loading, and the drying isn't the part the bothers me. It's folding and putting away. I'm always perplexed by the amount of laundry that piles up in such a short amount of time. Laundry folding robot? Maybe.

Ya here we go.

Keeping a blog seems like a really dedicated task to do. I've always been pretty web savvy, but I have never been strong enough to keep a web project going. Looks like this is gonna be it, posts about life, playing music, taking it easy. Humorous and wondrous good times will come from this. Connection and creativity.

Just recently I've gotten hired at a french restaurant called Chez Nous to be a line cook. It's a pretty fancy and homely place. French Jazz music playing in the background, amazing food passing you by, and the smell of succulent good business. I've never worked in this type of place before but I hope I flourish in this type of thing. I have cook experience just not this much! Wish me luck really.
